BANKSMAN (Grading C1)

Job specification

Grade 11 or equivalent qualification

Valid Onsetter / Banksman Certificate

At least 2 years experience in a mining environment underground

Knowledge of lifting operations and safety protocols

Basic knowledge of rigging and slinging

Ability to work in harsh and physically demanding conditions

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

Proficiency in English and any other of the 11 official languages South African Driver's license (Code 8-10) essential South African Citizenship Clear Criminal Record Declared medically fit by our OMP

Responsibilities

Direct and control the movement of heavy equipment and vehicles in restricted mining areas. Ensure all lifting and hoisting operations are carried out safely and by site procedures. Act as a signalman to crane operators and vehicle drivers. Perform pre-operational safety checks and risk assessments. Communicate effectively with ground personnel and operators via radio or hand signals Maintain clear, hazard-free access parths for vehicles and machinery Manage and maintain in area of responsibility by prescribed standard procedures, specifications, and practices. * Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1's safety motto :
