Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our SPAR Grocery Store team. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare and bake a variety of high-quality bread, rolls, specialty breads, and other bakery products to meet customer demand. The ideal candidate will have experience in baking, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering fresh, delicious products in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a wide range of bakery items, including bread, rolls, specialty breads and other baked goods according to recipes and store standards.

Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all bakery products.

Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices in compliance with local health regulations.

Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and proofers, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to SPAR's safety and cleanliness standards.

Work early morning or flexible shifts as needed to ensure fresh products are available throughout the day.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a baker for at least 2 years, preferably in a retail or grocery store environment.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

Familiarity with food safety and sanitation regulations.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Team player with good communication and customer service skills.

High school diploma or equivalent; culinary or baking certification is a plus.

Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required.
