Job Summary PAUL V&A WATERFRONT CAPETOWN BRANCH Is looking for a BAKER. We are looking for a passionate and energetic Baker to join our PAUL V&A WATERFRONT Team. Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker. As a Baker you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality, delicious baked goods that meet the PAUL Standards. Key Responsibilities: Baking: Prepare and bake a variety of PAUL Baked products such as bread and other specialty items according to recipes and production schedules. Ingredient Preparation: Measure, mix, and prepare PAUL Baked items ensuring consistency and adherence to quality standards. Quality Control: Monitor baking processes to ensure products meet our high standards for taste, texture, and appearance. Conduct quality checks on finished products. Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies. Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized workstation and adhere to strict sanitation standards to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other bakery staff members and contribute to a positive team environment. Compliance: Follow all PAUL Bakery policies and procedures, including those for safety and security, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Baker will be an added advantage. Understanding of baking science and food safety principles. Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt to changing baking and cooking conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Team player with good communication skills. Flexibility to work shifts and with own transport Preferred Qualifications: Certification or training in baking, pastry arts, or culinary arts is an added advantage Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy trays of baked goods and hot food items.
