Our client is seeking a Back-End Developer (Advanced) to support the standardisation of business partner master data (customer, vendor, supplier) within SAP environments.
The role focuses on developing and enhancing applications to support data ingestion and pipeline processing, maintaining data accuracy and reliability, and working closely with business stakeholders and product owners within an Agile/DevOps delivery model.

Product / Team Context
The role supports SAP-related data integration and standardisation initiatives, with a focus on maintaining and optimising incoming data pipelines. The environment requires close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure data accuracy, reliable ingestion, and alignment with architectural and technical standards.
Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant IT / Computer Science degree or certification
• Minimum 5 years experience
• Kafka Streaming and/or Java certification
• Cloud certification

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Kafka Streaming Technology: Consuming and producing data streams
• Java Development: Quarkus, Maven
• Cloud Platform: Azure (Key Vault, Kubernetes)
• In-depth understanding of Azure infrastructure and services
• Monitoring tools in Azure
• Good communication skills with the ability to manage external stakeholders and Product Owners
• Ability to interpret best practices into actionable steps
• Understanding of architecture standards and best practices and their application to product requirements
• Ability to steer and run meetings with external parties and Product Owners
• Initiative and proactive problem-solving ability
• Ability to work autonomously within a team

Advantageous Skills

• Security concepts and principles
• Programming knowledge (SAP, SQL, Python)
• Docker / containerisation experience
• Adaptability to learn, implement, and promote new technologies
• Good communication skills with internal teams and management
• Ability to quickly learn internal tools and languages to advise on integration methodologies
• Ability to translate hands-on experience into documentation for internal departments
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA (not required)

Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Management: Maintain and optimise incoming data pipelines integrating with SAP systems, ensuring data accuracy and reliability through technologies such as Kafka
• Application Development: Develop and enhance applications using Java (Quarkus) to support data ingestion processes
• Configuration and Mapping Enhancements: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and implement enhancements to data mappings and configurations
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for data pipelines, application architecture, and processes
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Utilise Azure services, including Key Vault and Kubernetes, to deploy and manage applications
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts and project managers
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and resolve data pipeline issues with minimal disruption
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in data management and application development and proactively suggest improvements
