Job Description

Our client is seeking a Back-End Developer (Advanced) to join the team to deliver a streamlined user experience, with opportunities to work on the Front End code base as well as the Full Stack.
The successful candidate will conduct, together with the feature team members, system analysis, design, development, and testing for assigned technical products or applications within the context of an Agile/DevOps delivery model.

• Experience Required: 3+ years in a Mid to Senior role, with more than 6 years total experience

Product / Team Context
The role forms part of a feature team responsible for maintaining, developing, deploying, and operating backend and frontend cross-platform applications based on Java and Angular frameworks, within a cloud-native toolchain to ensure world-class uptime and business agility.
Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant IT Degree
• 3 Years plus in a Mid to Senior role
• More than 6 years total experience required

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Back End: Java, Quarkus Framework experience, API design
• Databases: SQL language using PostgreSQL
• Testing: Unit test frameworks such as JUnit
• Docker: Knowledge of how to build and use container images
• Version Control: Knowledge in using Git (GitHub Enterprise)
• CI/CD: Build and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions and Terraform
• Interfaces: JSON, authentication and authorisation methods
• Build Tools: Experience using Maven
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Advantageous Skills

• Infrastructure experience with cloud technologies on AWS or Azure
• Front-end experience with Java, Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar
• Understanding of frameworks and libraries such as JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript
• Familiarity with UX and using Figma
• Test automation
• Docker container image creation and usage
• Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise and Terraform
• Any additional responsibilities assigned in the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct system analysis, design, development, and testing for assigned technical products or applications
• Maintain, develop, deploy, and operate backend and frontend cross-platform applications based on Java and Angular frameworks
• Implement robust automated test cases to ensure technical solutions meet expected outcomes and business objectives
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures, protocols, and required system documentation
• Support operational excellence goals through strong operations knowledge
• Resolve escalated support topics as part of a tier-3 DevOps role to ensure the highest availability of critical applications
• Plan and execute upgrades of existing applications, tools, and features
• Create solutions and solve problems using a cloud-native toolchain to ensure world-class uptime and business agility
