We are looking for an Intermediate AWS Support Consultant to join a 24/7 production data support environment within a financial services context. This role is heavily operations- and support-focused, with a strong emphasis on standby support, incident resolution, and ensuring the stability and reliability of data platforms running on AWS.
The consultant will support production data workloads in AWS, as well as provide data support across 100+ operational reports and ad-hoc data queries for business users. This is not a development-heavy role; the focus is on operational support, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data availability.
Key Responsibilities
Production & AWS Data Support
Provide 24/7 production data support in AWS environments, including standby/on-call rotation
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data pipeline and data availability issues
Investigate and resolve incidents related to AWS-hosted data platforms
Ensure data reliability, integrity, and availability in production systems
Operational Reporting & Business Support
Support operational reporting environments (100+ reports)
Handle ad-hoc data queries to support business users (Business Banking environment)
Assist with data validations, reconciliations, and issue investigations
Liaise with business users to understand data issues and provide timely resolution
Monitoring & Incident Management
Monitor AWS services and data pipelines using logging and monitoring tools
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews
Escalate issues appropriately and work with engineering teams when required
Support release cycles from an operational readiness perspective
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with data engineers, platform teams, and business stakeholders
Maintain operational documentation and support runbooks
Follow ITIL-style support processes where applicable
Required Skills & Experience
Core Requirements
Experience supporting production systems in AWS
Hands-on exposure to AWS services such as:
+ S3
+ Redshift (or similar data warehouse technologies)
+ Cloud monitoring and logging tools Strong SQL skills for data investigation and ad-hoc queries
Experience in production support / operational support roles
Standby / on-call experience is essential
Exposure to banking or financial services data environments is highly advantageous
Technical Exposure (Nice to Have)
Basic Python scripting for support or automation
Understanding of ETL / data pipelines (supporting rather than building)
Familiarity with data quality checks and validations
Exposure to cloud or hybrid data environments (AWS / Azure)
Key Competencies

Comfortable working under pressure in production environments
Good communication skills when dealing with business users
Reliable, detail-oriented, and operationally focused
Willingness to participate in 24/7 standby support
