AWS Data Engineer (Python/ Cloud & Analytics) (Senior) (Contract) - Gauteng/Hybrid - ISB9403407/ ISB9403371
Our client is seeking a Data Scientist (Senior) to join their dynamic team.
The successful candidate will drive the mission of developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and workflows, utilizing AWS services to support business decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Relevant IT / Business / Engineering Degree
• Preferable certifications: AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, AWS Certified Architect Associate, AWS Certified Architect Professional, Hashicorp Certified Terraform Associate

Essential Skills & Technologies

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and workflows using AWS services, including Python coding and
• data ingestion (ETL, Spark) from various data sources including APIs, Databases, Files, Streams
• Utilize Amazon Quicksight for data visualization, reporting, and interpretation to support business decisionmaking.
• Develop compelling and insightful dashboards that tell a clear story from complex data to support business
• decisions and drive actionable insights.
• Support exploratory data analysis and provide insights to drive business objectives.
• Strong experience with AWS services including but not limited to S3, Glue, Athena, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB,
• EC2, VPC, Step Functions, and other related services.
• Familiarity with Git and GitHub Actions for version control and CI/CD.
• Proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and analyse business requirements,
• including the underlying business context and translate business requirements into well-defined technical
• specifications.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders and
• the ability to engage effectively in a multicultural business environment..
• Experience in defining acceptance criteria and managing scope for technical deliverables.
• Adaptability to perform additional tasks under the Agile Working Model (AWM) Charter

Advantageous Skills

• Front end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular/React)
• Problem-solving and adaptability in Agile workflows
• Strong interest in AI and LLM-based applications
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to gather and translate requirements into actionable technical tasks.
• Define project scope and align business and technical teams.
• Design data pipelines, propose data and dashboard solutions, and support development cycles.
• Be able to facilitate collaboration between business and the Fit4Cloud team
• Develop and maintain high-quality, efficient software/Custom solutions.
• Build, deploy, and scale cloud applications using AWS with a focus on performance and security.
• Document system designs and key technical details.
• Resolve operational issues and support new use case onboarding.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project goals.
• Mentor and train junior team members.
• Take ownership and deliver impactful, meaningful solutions.
