Job Summary

A steel fabrication/construction company is looking for an AutoCAD Draughtsman with 2 - 3 years Structural Steel/roofing related experience for their offices in the Kempton Park area

Responsibilities

• Responsible for completing structural steel, sheeting and steel roofing drawings for a variety of customer requirements
• Work in conjunction with sales in order to understand and meet all of customer structural/building requirements
• Completion of all detail drawings including BOM's
• Completion of information and drawings as required for quotations as well as for manufacturing purposes
• Maintain Drawing Office Records, registers, change requests, revisions
• Follow and maintain existing company drawing standards
• Ensure sufficient checking of drawings and BOMs to minimize Non-Conformance reports
• Countersign NCRs received, update and manage drawing corrections accordingly
• Interact and assist other draughtsman and company staff with data/information as may be required by company operations

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Drawing Office, Draughtsman related qualification is preferred
• MUST HAVE 2 - 3 years structural steel drawing experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD package - this is NOT negotiable
• Strong understanding of Manufacturing processes
• Previous training on 3D CAD software would be beneficial
• Good reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
• Attention to detail and self-driven
• MS Office with fair exposure to Excel - spreadsheets, data and formula use
• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Salary is dependent on technical expertise and relevant industry experience
• South African citizens only
