Job Description

Our client based in Johannesburg South is looking for an Auto Electrician who is responsible for using service information at a level corresponding to existing vehicles electronic control systems and carrying out calibrations and troubleshooting on these electronic control systems using PC diagnostics with an emphasis on non-intermittent faults. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duties.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, analyse and rectify all types of faults, including engines, gear boxes and retarders, brakes systems, pneumatic and electric components.
• Diagnose, check and set the mechanical systems.
• Repairs or replaces defective wiring.
• Install electrically operated equipment and accessories.
• Set up accessories and specific equipment on the vehicles As required, attend to disabled vehicles at the roadside or on customerxe2x80x99s premises as part of our client, following appropriate routines and procedures including roadside safety laws and regulations.
• Provide technical advice to customers and colleagues.
• Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed correctly.
• Understand and work according to parts ordering procedures.
• Maintain a thorough and up to date knowledge of products and attend training courses.
• Use and apply knowledge, training, technical and personal skills to carry out work allocated.
• Ensure that customer requirements and expectations are met, through the provision of quality workmanship.

Requirements:

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• Auto electrical trade qualification (advantageous).
• 5 yearsxe2x80x99 work experience as an Auto Electrician.
• Successfully completed Level 4 Technician Training Programme or equivalent experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities.
• Heavy Vehicle licence.
• Effective time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Remuneration:
R10000 - R18000 per month.
