The Au Pair would be required to work 4-5 days a week and would have days off when we wouldn't have the kids but would be on standby should they be sick, etc and would be paid overtime should they be required to work extra hours.
Basic schedule each month (we have them on a 2-2-3 schedule and sometimes more depending on circumstances): Weeks 1 & 3 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday (14h00 - 19h00), Saturday & Sunday (07h00 - 15h00) Weeks 2 & 4: Wednesday & Thursday (14h00 - 19h00)
Babysitting from time to time in the evenings when the kids go to sleep would be a bonus which we'd also pay for over and above the monthly salary
School holiday hours:
same/similar hours - sometimes the kids don't go to school during the holidays, and we'd require assistance full-day
Duties:
Assist with homework, age-appropriate stimulation/activities, organize kids toys and cupboards, prep lunch/dinner, bedtime routine, Bonus if the candidate can travel with family on holidays- the Au Pair wouldn't be required to collect the children to and from work at this stage. However, it would be a bonus if they had their own vehicle and could drive for errands, and pick up the kids, etc in the future.
Special Requirements:
Female or male, someone active (willing to play with very active boys), experience with age groups, commit to 18 months - 2 years with the family, Driver's license, able to assist with homework to at least grade 4/5
Start Date and contract term:
ASAP - permanent
Salary:
R12 000pm (Gross, before deductions) + SARS rates per km (R4.76)
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
Must have a clear criminal record
Must have a passion for children
Must have Matric
Must have a South African ID document.
