Your Role at Impact:

Impact.com is looking on the search for a Associate Marketplace Analyst. This person will provides quantitative analysis, market expertise and a strategic perspective to our stakeholders throughout the Marketplace Business Unit.

In this role, you will serve as an data and analytics expert for marketplace stakeholders, using data driven insights to help them make better decisions. You will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to formulate quantitative research based on business needs, performing data / statistical analysis, creating visualizations to enable data storytelling and ultimately translating data into meaningful insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and ultimately implementing process improvements.

You are also responsible for defining, extracting, and monitoring key performance indicators to determine business initiatives' success. The metrics and analysis you develop will serve as a key input in operations decision-making and product development.

What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand their business needs, formulate and complete end-to-end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables and presentations. You work to turn business questions into data analysis, and make meaningful strategic and operational recommendations.
  • Work with large, complex datasets (structured and unstructured), and perform basic descriptive and predictive analysis through statistical modeling, data mining, and data analysis, leveraging statistical software, scripting and database languages.
  • Collaborate with Marketplace leaders, consult and jointly define a list of business metrics, create automated workflow to retrieve and monitor the trending of those metrics. Synthesize and identify actionable insights from these trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Proactively identify gaps or areas for improvement working with leadership to define new metrics that will drive behavior
  • Audit data to ensure accuracy and usefulness of data
  • Deliver effective presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of leadership, creating visual displays of quantitative information
  • Design, develop and automate regular monthly reporting including KPIs, dashboards, and business performance metrics to enable business performance measurement and decision making. Create and iterate on solutions and dashboards to empower operational and exploratory analysis.
  • Be a self-starter, motivated by a passion for developing the best possible solutions to problems.
What You Have:
  • Bachelor's degree with a quantitative focus (e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Econometrics). Master's degree is a plus.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in an analytical function. Experience in management consulting a plus.
  • Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and experiment evaluation. Experience with experimental design is a plus.
  • Experience with articulating business questions, pulling data from datasets (SQL) and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
  • Ability to independently drive workstream or project and understand context within the wider business. Distinctive problem solving skills and good business judgment. Able to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Experience working with statistical packages (e.g. R, SAS, Stata, MATLAB, etc) with strong preference for Python
  • Experience in scripting with SQL, extracting large sets of data, and design of ETL flows, or similar language aimed at querying relationship databases.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as DOMO, Google Data Studio, Power BI, Tableau, etc.
  • Experience with data management, specifically with validating and auditing data and reports from multiple systems
  • Work experience in an interdisciplinary/cross-functional field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience communicating the results of analyses with product and leadership teams to influence the overall strategy of the product
  • Self-starter with strong initiative. Have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Superb time-management, organizational, and project-management skills
