Job Description

Minimum qualifications/requirements/criteria:





To be eligible for selection for an nGAP post, applicants must meet the following criteria, in addition to meeting criteria specified by the university:



Show interest in becoming an academic.

Be willing to commit to placement at the appointing university for the full 6 years of the programme.

Masters' Degree in the discipline of Mathematics with a minimum average of 70% pass mark.

A commitment to develop your teaching and research ability.

Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is preferred.

Candidates should be interested in pursuing doctoral studies or already in possession of a doctorate qualification. Demonstrate passion for pursuing a career as an academic.


The school offers:





Administrative and developmental support to academics, as necessary and appropriate, with a view to enabling them to participate fully in appropriate development programmes.

The day-to-day supervision of the academics.

Appropriate office space and infrastructural support to academics are reasonably required to perform their tasks.

Clearly stipulates obligations, expectations, roles and responsibilities and clearly describes the University's conditions of service for academics appointed in nGAP posts.

Teacher training opportunity at our Centre for Learning and Teaching Development (CLTD).
