Job Summary Division: Wits Pharmacy Regulatory Sciences Hub (Wits PRSH) Main purpose of the job:
To support the academic, research, and outreach activities of the Pharmacy Regulatory Sciences Hub (PRSH), while pursuing a PhD in regulatory sciences
The Associate Lecturer will be responsible for contributing to teaching and administrative support for the PRSH team
Location:
University of the Witwatersrand
Key performance areas:
Deliver and support teaching and administrative activities in pharmacy practice at undergraduate levels
Participate in curriculum design and academic coordination
Contribute to the development and delivery of PRSH-led training programmes, and stakeholder engagements
Supervise undergraduate and Honours student research projects
Participate in institutional service, committee work, and administrative duties within the School and the Hub
Engage in academic writing and project reporting
Required minimum education and training:
Master's Degree in Pharmacy Practice or Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Must be registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum of 2 years' experience teaching or tutoring in pharmacy practice
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Academic writing and presentation skills
Proficiency with digital teaching and learning platforms (e.g., Moodle, MS Teams)
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
Exposure to or prior involvement in regulatory affairs, pharmaceutical policy, or public health
Passion for teaching innovation, regulatory capacity building and policy relevant research
Ability to travel for training, workshops or project activities
Willing to work after hours and on weekends for events and/or to meet academic deadlines
