Job Purpose
In this role, you will provide high quality legal expertise and representation in Family Law, supporting clients across a range of family law matters in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
The Associate role is critical in advancing our client's interests, supporting Partners in complex cases, and contributing to the Firm's reputation for excellence, efficiency and client care.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
Family Law
  • Manage caseload of family law matters including divorce, maintenance, primary residence and contact, domestic violence, adoption and marital property disputes
  • Draft and review legal documents including summons, affidavits, settlement agreements and parenting pre-trial conferences and mediations
  • Provide sound legal advice and guide clients through emotionally charged situations with empathy and discretion
  • Liaise with advocates, social workers, mediators and other stakeholders as required
Other
  • Prepare relevant articles for publication
  • Manage account management
  • Assist as required with limited RAF files

Qualifications
  • Legal Qualification
  • Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
Experience
  • 1-2 years' experience post admission, with focus on Family Law
  • Family Law and litigation, drafting and court appearances
  • Ability to manage multiple matters with tight deadlines
