To do this work, we are building a new type of impact firm.THE HEALTH PRACTICEOur region faces the challenges of the quadruple burden of disease, which includes both communicable and non-communicable diseases, as well as poverty, violence and injury. Coupled with this are relatively weak health systems, heavy reliance on donor funding and inequitable public and private sectors. Within this context, the Health Practice provides experts who have decades of experience in the design, implementation, costing and evaluation of health programmes, the strengthening of sustainable health systems and the use of digital technologies to improve the quality of life.Our health work is bolstered by in-house specialists in Applied Behavioural Economics, Digital Excellence, Human Development and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning. Donor organisations, foundations and governments across Africa routinely rely on Genesis for expert advice and support. We have worked extensively with public and private healthcare sectors. This gives us a position of trust based on a strong reputation for providing robust and independent expert advice.Our team has grown rapidly over the last five years and is spread across multiple countries in Africa and elsewhere. Our clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, GIZ, Merck and UNAIDS.The team of over 50 is currently based in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Kenya, West Africa, East Africa, and Europe.We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Digital Health Analyst/Associate to join our Health Practice. This role is an excellent opportunity to leverage your tech-savvy skills and expertise in digital health to contribute to impactful projects across Africa. You will be instrumental in exploring and implementing innovative digital solutions, from strategic landscape development to hands-on support in building digital tools.Key responsibilities:Digital Health Strategy and Landscape Development: Contribute to the analysis and development of digital health strategies, including assessing existing landscapes and identifying opportunities for digital intervention.Business Analysis and Service Design: Apply business analysis and service design methodologies to understand user needs, map workflows, and define requirements for digital health solutions.User Experience (UX) Expertise: Support the design and improvement of user experiences for digital health platforms and tools, ensuring intuitive and effective interfaces.Technical Project Ownership: Take ownership of technical aspects within projects, including deep diving into no-code/low-code environments to build and implement solutions.Chatbot Development and AI Integration: Support the development and implementation of chatbots and the integration of AI into health-related workflows, from conceptualization to deployment.Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal and external teams, including health experts, developers, and clients, to ensure successful project delivery.Research and Analysis: Conduct research on emerging digital health technologies and trends, providing insights to inform project direction and strategic decision-making.Genesis consultants carry a balanced combination of powerful intellect, strong technical skills, and a consulting character to match. You are proactive and hands-on, with the ability to not only work effectively as part of a team, but also to motivate the team and ensure they can excel.You are likely to have:A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health (with a digital health focus), Business Analysis, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus.Proven experience (1-3 years for Analyst, 3-5 years for Associate) in digital health, business analysis, service design, UX design, or a similar role.Demonstrated experience with no-code/low-code platforms and a willingness to deep dive into technical implementations.Experience with or a strong interest in chatbot development and AI integration in practical applications.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex challenges into actionable digital solutions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.A keen interest in digital health innovation and its application in African contexts.Proficiency in relevant software and tools for business analysis, design, and project management.Location:This role can be based in South Africa or Kenya, and you must already have the right to work in the location you apply for.
