Assistant Restaurant Manager

- Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate, Walker Bay, Hermanus



We are a luxury wine estate overlooking the lagoon, offering top-notch dining and events. We're looking for a hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager to help run our restaurant smoothly, support events and conferences, and keep things running like clockwork. Duties





Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily restaurant operations, events, and conferences. Supervise front-of-house staff including bar staff, waiters, runners, and cleaners. Handle complaints, schedule changes, kitchen issues, and stock problems calmly. Oversee food and beverage operations across the estate as a proactive team player. Manage multiple tasks during peak times, delegate effectively, and keep things efficient. Train new staff and provide ongoing training to meet and exceed company standards. Deliver excellent customer service, interact with guests professionally, and resolve issues politely. Coordinate with the team to hit sales targets, boost customer satisfaction, and follow procedures.



Requirements





Previous experience in an assistant managerial role (we'd consider sommeliers too). Strong leadership, motivation, and people skills. Hands-on, hardworking attitude with the ability to multitask and stay level-headed. Passion for hospitality, well-presented, and service-oriented.
