Job Description
Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking to hire an Assistant Engineer's Representative for a fixed-term contract position. Candidates must be available to start immediately.
Location: (Site based) Nqushwa Local Municipality, Eastern Cape. +- 80 km from East London.
Employment Type: Fixed-term (project-based)
Accommodation: Provided
Travel: Approved travel expenses reimbursed.
Requirements:
- Education: BTech or ND or Beng Tech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution.
- Professional Registration: Pr Tech Eng or Pr Techi Eng registration with ECSA.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate site experience.
- Training: Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 5 (SAQA-accredited).
- Experience: Successfully executed at least ONE (1) bridge construction projects in a lead/ site representative capacity.
- Availability: Full-time site presence for the contract duration.
- Support the Engineer's Representative with bridge supervision and contract administration tasks.
- Monitor workmanship, quality and quantities; maintain daily site diaries and measurement records.
- Assist with reviewing drawings, method statements and HSE documentation.
- Facilitate stakeholder liaison.
- Day-to-day supervision, quality checks and quantity verification.
- Assist with progress reporting and certification inputs.
- Coordinate with inspectors, survey and materials testing teams.
- Snagging and close-out support.
