The Generator Refueller is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient refuelling of standby and operational generators at customer sites or company facilities. The role ensures that generators remain fully operational by monitoring fuel levels, performing routine checks, and adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
Safely refuel generators at designated sites according to schedule.
Monitor and record generator fuel levels, usage trends, and refill volumes.
Perform pre- and post-refuelling inspections of generators and fuel tanks.
Check for fuel leaks, spillages, or irregularities and report immediately.
Ensure correct handling, storage, and transport of diesel fuel in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate refuelling logs, delivery notes, and reporting documentation.
Liaise with coordinators and supervisors to plan refuelling routes and priorities.
Conduct minor housekeeping duties around generator sites (e.g., cleaning fuel spills, ensuring tanks are closed properly).
Assist with basic generator operational checks (oil, coolant, battery, etc.) and escalate faults to technicians when required.
Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental policies, including the use of PPE and spill control measures.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
Code 08/10 driver's license with PDP (advantageous).
Previous experience in refuelling, fuel handling, or generator operations preferred.
Basic mechanical knowledge of generators will be advantageous.

Physical fitness to handle fuel equipment and work in field conditions.

Occasional after-hours or emergency call-outs may be required.
