Assistant Production Controller

Job Description

To support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of our production activities. This role is key in helping maintain efficient workflow, ensuring resources are in place, and supporting smooth day-to-day operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12
  • 3 years experience as a Production Operator in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in the Animal Feeds environment will be an advantage
  • Previous experience in production, planning, or administration (desired but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel); ERP/MRP experience is an advantage.
  • Problem-solving mindset and proactive approach.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Assist in creating, updating, and communicating daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Monitor production progress, identifying delays or issues and escalating where needed.
  • Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, and production teams to ensure material availability.
  • Maintain accurate production records, job sheets, and system data (ERP/MRP).
  • Prepare reports on performance, output, and order status.
  • Support in investigating and solving production bottlenecks.
  • Communicate changes in schedules or priorities to relevant teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company processes, health & safety, and quality standards.
