Job Description

Educare House is a warm and fun-loving preschool & aftercare situated around the corner from Kirstenhof Primary School (KPS) in Kirstenhof. We provide preschool for children aged 4 months - 6 years and Aftercare for children from KPS for Grades R-7. We are growing rapidly and are looking for three assistant teachers to start in January 2026, one for each of the following classes: 0-1yrs; 2-3yrs and 3-4yrs.

Key elements of the role:

Support the teacher with the care, management and education of children in their care, ensuring the children feel loved, supported and happy, and are developing appropriately Support the teacher with the management of the classroom, ensuring that the classroom is clean and organised and has good systems in place for nappies etc. Support the teacher with communication with the parents, ensuring that the class team maintains strong, positive relationships with the parents, in line with the school's communication guidelines. Have fun and play with the children during free play.

Position details:

Start date: January 2026 Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:30 (0-1yrs) / 07:30-16:30 (2-3 & 3-4yrs)
Qualifications and experience required:

Non-negotiable: At least ECD NQF Level 4 Preferred but not required: experience working as an assistant teacher
Salary: to be shared with potential candidates at beginning of interview process
