Job purpose: Operate and assist the management with all day-to-day activities in both guest houses. Develop, implement, and manage our social media strategy and contents across all channels. Our key customers are international accommodation seekers.Job structure & teamYou will be working with the owners, the management, all staff members, our guests, and suppliers. You will be reporting to the manager and owners and will be supervising our housekeeping staff including maintenance, as well as all suppliers. Our team across the portfolio will consist of 10 accountable, highly motivated, and energetic team players, seeking excellence in everything we do and providing top-notch services to our guests.What we expectMinimum level of educationGrade 12 or equivalent as minimum requirement.Prior experienceMinimum of 3 years front office, reservations or rooms/inventory manager experience required. Experience with PMS programs and booking systems. At least 2 years previous work experience in hospitality and/or sale & marketing.Personal skills required

  • Good teamwork skill.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving attitude.
  • Service oriented and client centric in order to ensure the delivery of an outstanding guest experience along all points of contact.
  • Operational skills to maintain all systems and procedures to ensure housekeeping control and to maintain the look and feel of the establishments.
Technical and language skills required
  • Computer literate and technologically capable.
  • Proficient in MS Office and relevant software responsibilities (booking platforms, PMS).
  • Up to date with all recent and relevant social media platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication.
Legal requirements
  • Proof of work permit and identity document required.
  • Valid driver's license is non-negotiable and own transport.
Your responsibilities & tasksResponsibilities include but is not limited to:Assistant management responsibilities
  • Attend to reservation enquires promptly and maintain live calendars and booking schedule accurately, handle review procedures and all communication with guests
  • Prepare and perform accurate room checks prior to guests' arrival as well as post-departure
  • Ensures maintenance and highest standards of housekeeping are maintained in accordance with company policy
  • Be on call 24/7 for guest house or guest needs
  • Operating concierge service for guests on request and communicate with customers when appropriate (welcome them in the facilities, address their complaints, find solutions to problems, offer information etc.)
  • Manage staff team and arranging staffing schedules
  • General admin work for the company as required
  • Processing invoices (creditors/debtors) to supply to public officer
  • Manage stock levels for the guest house e.g. with regards to linen and consumables
  • Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers, travel agencies, etc.
  • Upkeep of the interior and exterior of the guest house, the managing of building works, garden services, window cleaning etc. and deal with all maintenance issues as needed
  • Communicate and report to management on a regular basis in line with company requirements
  • Irregular working hours are part and parcel of the inherent job requirements
Marketing Responsibilities
  • Keeping communication items up to date such as websites and room credenza and contents across all channels
  • Accurate management of booking and advertising platforms in terms for promotional and other marketing purposes
  • Execute marketing plans and activities with manager
  • Maintain a safe, harmonious, enjoyable workplace environment for staff
  • Adhere to all fire and emergency procedures, ensuring guest safety and participate in an evacuation if necessary
  • Practice safe working habits, including bending and lifting appropriately to avoid injury, reporting hazards, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals and working to minimize tripping hazards
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional for all staff
