Assistant Nursery Manager

Job Summary
A well-established South African nursery specialising in the production of high-quality avocado trees is seeking a disciplined, motivated, and technically competent Assistant Nursery Manager to join its Eastern Cape operation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the management of nursery propagation activities
Support the supervision and management of nursery staff
Manage irrigation and nutrient programmes for greenhouse and shade-house plants
Coordinate dispatch operations and logistics
Capture production data and ensure full plant traceability
Provide after-sales technical support to clients
Assist with farm maintenance operations, construction, and expansion projects
Candidate Requirements
Honest, reliable, and hardworking, with a hands-on approach
Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills
Positive attitude, conscientious work ethic, and ability to work effectively within a team
Relevant horticulture or agriculture qualification (diploma or degree)
Avocado or orchard experience will be advantageous
Professional proficiency in English; isiXhosa will be an advantage
Strong commitment to producing consistently high-quality plants
