Assistant Manager: Stores & Logistics - Brakpan2023-08-02 - 2023-09-01PermanentJHB001716Engineering & TechnicalGauteng, Brakpan(Market related)We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager who has gained previous experience in stores and logistics departments within manufacturing industries. As the Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for managing the efficient and effective operation of the company's stores and logistics department, including inventory management, procurement, and distribution. Manufacturing and Warehouse experience is essential.Key Responsibilities:Manage inventory levels and control stock movements, including stock counting and reconciliation.Handling of logistics of inbound and outbound delivers.Ensuring availability of fast-moving items and raw materials.Ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers and production lines.Collaborate with production, planning, and purchasing teams to optimize inventory levels and avoid stockouts.Manage and coordinate transportation and logistics activities, including inbound and outbound freight, customs clearance, and compliance.Develop and implement operational policies and procedures for stores and logistics functions to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness.Monitor and analyse key performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement action plans to address them.Coach, develop, and mentor team members to achieve their full potential and ensure the department's success.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in stores and logistics operations, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing company.SAP knowledge and experience, (non-negotiable).Proven track record of delivering results and driving process improvements.Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and motivate a team.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with ERP systems.If you are a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.For more information please contact:Craig Lamprecht
