Live-Out Role Position Overview A prestigious 5* boutique hotel is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Manager in upholding world-class cleanliness and presentation standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to foster a guest-centric, efficient, and sustainable housekeeping culture. Key Responsibilities Maintain guest rooms and public areas to the highest luxury standards. Supervise daily housekeeping operations, staff schedules, and workflow. Assist with recruitment, training, and mentorship of housekeeping staff. Monitor guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance satisfaction. Ensure compliance with SOPs, health, safety, and hygiene standards. Manage inventory, stock levels, and budget control, minimising waste. Promote sustainable housekeeping practices. Report maintenance issues promptly and ensure consistent property standards. Requirements & Qualifications Essential Minimum 2 years' experience as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager (or equivalent) in a 5* Boutique hotel Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent organisational and communication abilities. Computer literacy with MS Office Suite. Knowledge of luxury housekeeping SOPs and health & safety compliance. Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards consistently. Preferred Experience with Opera PMS or similar property management systems. Hospitality or housekeeping-related certification/qualification. Sustainability and "green practices" awareness. Personal Attributes Eye for detail with a proactive approach. Excellent grooming and professional presentation. Friendly; approachable, and team-oriented. Ability to motivate and inspire a team. Physically able to manage housekeeping duties where required. Package & Benefits Salary: R20,000 - R25,000 per month (dependent on experience). Live-out role - candidates must be Cape Town-based . Gratuity: Paid monthly in arrears as per company policy.
