Job Description

To provide administrative support to the Faculty Officer in order to ensure effective and efficient rendering of quality service to academic staff, students and the public., by way of supervising faculty office staff who handle correspondence, accurate data capturing database administration and records. Furthermore, supervision of staff includes skills development planning sessions with staff and staff performance management. To work as a team member through contributing to department's activities, which require team support including but not limited to registrations of learners and graduation ceremonies. To apply sound administrative principles and skills during the admission and registration process,as well as the identification of potential graduates.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A Senior Certificate/Grade 12 (Matric)
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a faculty office environment
  • Working knowledge of the student life cycle
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with systems like MAS, Blackboard, APS, as well as ITS, amongst others

Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Supervision of Faculty Office staff (Mowbray Campus)
  • Liaison with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the Faculty Officer in his/her absence
  • Perform student life cycle activities as custodian of certain qualifications on the Programme Qualification Mix (PQM)
  • Implementing quality assurance measures in the handling of student records/data
  • Administration and processing of admission, registration, student records, examinations and graduation data including:
  • Identification of graduates
  • Processing of applications and selections
  • Database administration, for example capturing of subject weights.
  • Marks computation
  • Compiling and/or preparing all required documents for relevant faculty committee meetings
