Job Description

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a competent individual to support the creation of opportunities to influence economic growth and job creation through entrepreneurship, enterprise development and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
An appropriate 3-year B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification) in Economics or related field; A minimum of 3 years experience in enterprise development and administration or similar environment.

Key Performance Areas
Support the development of initiatives to enable small business access to non-financial and financial support; Support the implementation of initiatives to provide market access opportunities; Support the implementation of initiatives to enhance entrepreneurship (social and business) ; Support the development of initiatives to improve the enable environment for business through government interaction; Support the development of initiatives to identity gaps and /or blockages for service delivery improvement and refer to the relevent components; Facilitate building and strengthening partnerships to provide small businesses with business development services( eg: leveraging of funding and supplier development). This will be advvantageous: A postgraduate qualification.
Competencies
Knowledge of the following: Understanding of business analysis and financial interpretation as a tool for SMME development; Government processes and procedures; Finance products and incentives in both the public and private; Experience in project management; Skills needed: Computer Literacy; Communication skills (written and verbal); Problem solving; Network and building bonds; Impact and influence; A valid driving licence (Code B or higher). Remuneration
R 444 036 per annum (Salary level 9)
Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance,pension-fund contributions, etc)a re funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
