Job Description


The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport has a career opportunity for an individual to coordinate and operationalise requirements, systems and processes and supervise personnel for the promotion, development and preservation of arts and culture within the ambit of relevant legislation.
Minimum RequirementsAn appropriate 3-year post matric qualification (equivalent or higher qulaification) in the Social Sciences field; A minimum of 5 years work experience within customary/cultural practices/arts and culture
RecommendationA valid (Code B or higher) driving licence, or alternatively people with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, may also apply.
Key Performance AreasSupport relating to arts and cultural practice programmes; Stakeholder Management; Operational planning and reporting; People Management; Financial Management.
CompetenciesKnowledge of the following: Cultural practices within a diverse society; Research processes and methodologies; Stakeholder management;Skills needed: Prove computer literacy (MS office package: Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Project Management; Planning and organising; Communication( Written and verbal).
RemunerationR 424 104 per annum (Salary level 9).Note on remuneration: Service benefits or obligations for qualifying employees (medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc) are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
NotesOShortlisted candidates will be required to submit documentation for verification purposes and criminal record vetting.
