Management of the Faculty as a member of the Faculty Executive Committee.
Ensure that the Faculty's strategic goals are realized in line with the institutional strategic goals.
Provide innovative strategic leadership.
Acting as Dean in the absence of the Dean.
Work closely with the Dean to develop, manage, implement and maintain academic and administrative operations in The Faculty of Education promotes academic excellence and prominence in all the phases/disciplines of the faculty.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
A relevant Doctoral degree in Education.
A relevant teaching qualification.
At least ten (10) years' Higher Education experience with at least 5 years' relevant experience at a senior level within the faculty.
A strong knowledge base of HEQSF processes.
A demonstrable track record of leadership and mentorship.
Evidence of involvement in faculty and institutional committees (i.e . Learning and Teaching; Curriculum officer committee; WIL committee; Language; Quality Assurance, etc.).
A proven research track record as well as a track record in successfully supervising post-graduate students to completion.
Thorough knowledge of the academic offerings in the faculty.
Knowledge of institutional policies relevant to the key performance areas.
A thorough understanding of the South African Higher Education landscape.
A sound knowledqe of institutional and facultv budgeting processes.

Academic planning.
Faculty representation in various Institutional committees.
Chair and participate in relevant Faculty committees.
Providing leadership in the Institutional Audit process.
Manage student success rates and throughput rates.
Manage and coordinate Funza Lushaka and other bursary processes in the faculty.
Facilitate, manage and maintain sound internal staff and student relations as well as their development.
Share responsibility for the management of the faculty.
Mentoring and coaching HODs.
Chair Mowbray Management Committee.
Managing and overseeing campus Issues. Liaise with service departments, e.g. Student Health, Infrastructure and Security, Physical Space. etc.
