Job Description

Duties/Pligte
Liaising regarding and dealing with financial matters relating to faculties, institutes and support environments. Providing financial advisory services to the above-mentioned environments. Monitoring the compliance with financial policies and procedures. Compiling financial statements and management reports on a continuous basis. Monitoring overspent cost centres and addressing it with the relevant parties. Administering and approving advance payments. Reviewing and capturing journal requests. Following up and allocating transactions on control accounts. Reviewing and approving staff reimbursements. Responding to and solving financial policy and procedure queries (walk-in, telephonic and electronic). Presenting formal and informal internal workshops and programmes to communicate financial policies and systems.


Skakeling in verband met en die hantering van finansiele aangeleenthede ten opsigte van fakulteite, institute en steunomgewings. Verskaf finansiele raadgewende dienste aan bogenoemde omgewings. Monitering van die nakoming van finansiele beleide en prosedures. Opstel van finansiele state en bestuursverslae op 'n deurlopende basis. Monitering van oorgespandeerde kostepunte en volg dit op met die betrokke partye. Bestuur en goedkeuring van voorskotbetalings. Nagaan en vaslegging van joernaalversoeke. Opvolg en allokering van transaksies op kontrolerekeninge. Kontrolering en goedkeuring van personeel se terugbetalings. Hantering en oplos van navrae (instap, telefonies en elektronies) in verband met finansiele beleide en prosedures. Die aanbied van formele en informele interne werkswinkels en programme om finansiele beleide en stelsels te kommunikeer.



Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
A degree in commerce with financial accounting as major,

ORa financial diploma (NQF 6) with financial accounting as major and five years' relevant experience. Proven experience in applying financial policies and procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proven ability to function effectively as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, Word and Outlook). Sound organisational and planning skills. The ability to perform effectively under pressure. Excellent problem-solving skills.


`n Graad in handelswese met finansiele rekeningkunde as hoofvak,

OF'n finansiele diploma (NKR 6) met finansiele rekeningkunde as hoofvak en vyf jaar se toepaslike ervaring. Bewese ervaring in die toepassing van finansiele beleide en prosedures. Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede. Bewese vermoe om effektief binne spanverband te funksioneer. Uitstekende mondelinge en skriftelike kommunikasievaardighede. Uitstekende rekenaarvaardighede (MS Excel, Word en Outlook). Sterk organisatoriese en beplanningsvaardighede. Die vermoe om effektief onder druk te werk. Uitstekende probleemoplossings-vaardighede.



Recommendation/Aanbeveling
Proven experience and knowledge of the financial systems of Stellenbosch University or a similar institution.


* Bewese ervaring en kennis van die Universiteit Stellenbosch, of `n soortgelyke instansie, se finansiele stelsels.
