Our client is seeking and experienced finance person for the role of Assistant: Accountant & APDP Controller within their team.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting and / or Finance
• 3 years related work experience in Finance Department
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and SAP
• Display knowledge of accounting principles, and apply these to job
• Posses a strong knowledge of system procedures relating to general ledger and
• payables processing and fixed asset systems
• Display attention to detail
• Team xe2x80x93orientation with good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships effectively
• Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Motivated self starter and able to work independently, and to manage time effectively

• Create and monitor a system of controls, procedures, and forms for the recordation of fixed assets.
• Recommend to management any updates to accounting policies relating to fixed assets.
• Record fixed assets acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
• Assign tag numbers to fixed assets
• Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
• Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summaryxe2x80x93level account in the general ledger
• Calculate all depreciation for all fixed assets
• Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation.
• Calculate asset retirement obligations for those fixed assets to which AROs are applicable
• Investigate the potential obsolescence of fixed assets and make recommendations to management
• Conduct periodic physical inventory counts for fixed assets
• Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets, and assist the auditors in their
