Job Description

We are seeking a talented Asset Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and updating of IAM (Infrastructure Asset Management Plan), SAMP (Strategic Asset Management Plans), FAR (Fixed Asset Registers), etc. They will design solutions, write reports, engage with clients, and maintain the abovementioned. The ideal candidate will have experience in Municipal Asset Management, ISO55000, data management and project management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical support to the Section Manager.

Technical analysis.

Implementation of Infrastructure Asset Management/Register Projects.

Project Management

Field Team leader

Field data recordings

Write reports summarizing Asset analysis findings and engage with clients to address their needs;

Maintain and design data sets, exploring and understanding all asset related data;

Understand basic GIS architecture.

Manage projects by meeting with users to define needs, plan and resolve work processes, and monitor project requirements and progress.

Project Timeliness: Complete projects within established deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of reports, maps, and other geospatial products to clients.

Data Accuracy: Maintain a high level of data accuracy and integrity by rigorously validating, updating, and cleaning data.

Client Satisfaction: Achieve and maintain a high level of client satisfaction through clear communication, timely delivery of reports, and addressing client needs effectively.

Innovation and Efficiency: Continuously improve asset management processes by adopting new techniques, tools, and methodologies, resulting in increased efficiency and innovation within the team.

Familiarity and proficiency in database knowledge and understanding, including MSSQL and/or PostGIS.

Communication with manager and support team.

Work accurately and efficiently.

Reporting verbally and in writing.

Preparation of GRAP compliant Fixed Asset Registers (FAR)

Developing of IAMPxe2x80x99s, SAMPxe2x80x99s and Asset Care plans.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in Engineering and/or minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in Asset Management

Honours Degree is an added advantage.

Professionally Registered with ECSA will be an added advantage.

Professional registration with SAAMA/WPIAM as CSAM, CAMA will be an added advantage.

Professionally Registered with Project Management Institute will be an added advantage.

Previous experiencing in mentoring junior personnel will be an added advantage

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in compilations of Infrastructure Asset Management Plans.

Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the preparation and compilation of Fixed Asset Registers.

Familiarity with ISO55000 framework.

Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Strong problem-solving, research, and data analysis skills.

Detail-oriented and able to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Project management experience and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Excellent MS Excel skills

GIS and Database (MSSQL) experience is not essential but will be an added advantage
