Job Description

To manufacture SAFARI-1 fuel element and control rod assembly and aluminium components in accordance with SAFARI and SHEQ requirements and licensing requirements.




Key Performance Areas



Set up the process for manufacturing products or items in compliance with Work Instructions Manufacture elements/control rods from the production run issued by the Section Head, and complete as per route card guidelines Work according to established methods for the machining of components or items: Complete the manufacturing of components to final machining, and assemble components to final product. Do final machining on assembled product. Ensure that the product meets the specifications and drawings and that there are no deviations. Ensure that all materials used comply with quality standards. Ensure that equipment is safe to operate before use, for example: shielding covers in front of moving parts, and equipment and tools fastened in position as required. Complete work documents accurately as required. Effective HR Controls (leave application, attendance etc.) Training in accordance with IDP. Supervise trainees and interns in the machine workshop. Ensure adherence to Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) and Operational Excellence programs Ensure that work is completed safely in accordance with SHEQ and criticality requirements.

Knowledge of technical drawings and design Knowledge of CAD (Computer Aided Draughting. Knowledge of Uranium material and its alloys. Knowledge of fabrication inspection. Knowledge of dimensional metrology. Familiarity with SHEQ, IMS, and maintenance systems within a nuclear-regulated environment Knowledge of SHEQ requirements in a manufacturing environment. Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational integrity.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:





Qualified Fitter & Turner or Toolmaker



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:



Minimum 3 years machining experience required. Experience with radioactive or nuclear materials handling is advantageous
