INTRODUCTION

Komatsu has an opportunity for a qualified Earthmoving Mechanic to join our team at Gauteng Region. The successful candidate must have experience working with mining equipment, with vast experience on fault finding, rebuilds and repairs. Knowledge of and experience working with Komatsu equipment is an added advantage.

Requirements and Qualification:

Grade 12 or N3/N2 or NQF level4

Trade Certificate as Heavy Earthmoving Mechanic

Internal appointment: completed Komatsu apprentice program

EXPERIENCE:

3 years' experience in the heavy earthmoving/mining equipment industry.

Experience on fault finding, rebuilds and repairs is highly essential.

• Remain up to date with safety procedures.
• Takes SHEQ into account in the planning of work output.
• Conduct Hazardous identification & Risk Assessment.
• Perform HIRA with team members before each task.
• Implement the Komatsu Way 5S's - Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardise, Sustain.
• Comply with tooling and vehicle inspections as per standard, applicable policy and or regulation.
• Report ALL incidents during the shift to leadership.
• Conduct daily, weekly, quarterly, annual inspections.
• Reports equipment that is not in good working order.

RELEVANT TRADE EXPERIENCE:

• Millwright - combo Mechanical and Medium Voltage Electrical

• Auto-Electrical

• Electrical (High Voltage)

• Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Mechanic

• Boilermaker

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

1 years' experience in the heavy earth moving/mining equipment industry

Skills/Additional Requirements

Driver's License - Class B Heavy Duty Driver's License Class C Machine Operator LicenseSafety, Health and Environment Act Mine, Quarries, Works and Machinery Act
