Introduction:
Komatsu South Africa is seeking an experienced Heavy Current Electrician to join our Mogalakwena Branch. The preferred candidate should have at least 3 years' post trade experience on heavy earthmoving equipment within the mining industry and a relevant Electrician Trade certificate.
Qualifications:

• A minimum of at least 3 years' post trade experience on heavy earthmoving equipment within the mining industry

Experience:

• A minimum of 3 years' post trade experience in the earth moving/mining equipment industry.
• Heavy current experience (Essential)

Specific Knowledge Requirements:

• Exposure to earth moving machinery.
• Have good trouble shooting knowledge on machines with standard tool requirement
• Computer literate.
• Good understanding of maintenance philosophy.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills.
• Valid driver's license. (Essential)

Job Specification:

• Implement the Komatsu Way 5S sorting, organizing, cleaning, ordering, and training.
• Adheres to SHE policies and procedures.
• Participates in workplace safety events.
• Implements safety awareness in all activities.
• Reports hazardous situations, incidents, or accidents.
• Plans for health check and inspection of equipment.
• Conducts visual machine/equipment inspection - health condition, breakdowns.
• Conduct general inspection in terms of appearance, damage, or missing components.
• Test and adjust faulty components/parts/systems.
• Monitors the functionality of the component/equipment and progress made.
• Reports inspection results, as well as any abnormalities or damage.
• Reports problems and issues to manager.
• Obtain necessary consumables items/parts/tools from warehouse via approved procedures.
• Apply judgement in the replacement or re use of parts.
• Gain technical advice or approval to replace a part/component.
• Execute mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Clean equipment/parts/component.
• Assess work/materials/items/parts required to resolve problem.
• Execute services on machines.
• Checks returns unused consumables stock and parts back into stock.
• Reports service results as well as any abnormalities or damage.
• Checks that tools/equipment required for work are available and in good working order.
• Orders parts and consumables as per plan.
• Executes overhaul of equipment according to procedure.
• Inspect equipment for compliance and quality.
• Conduct fault finding.
• Collects facts about breakdowns.
• Measure and compare readings - gauges, multi meters, heat guns, etc. to specifications.
• Check specification values against actual values and recommends repair solutions.
