Minimum Requirements
National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 is essential. Qualified Electrician. 2 years of related experience as an Electrician will be advantageous. Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment materials and tools of the electric trade, including use and care of trade tools and equipment. Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work. In-depth knowledge of the national Electrical Code for electrical installations. Ability to communicate and coordinate with supervisors, subordinates, vendors and personnel. Willing to work overtime, weekends and stand by shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring and lighting systems. Interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans, sketches, and blueprints. Performing general electrical maintenance. Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers and other electrical components. Completing all required documentation such as job cards, inspection lists, etc. Performing work efficiently to minimize breakdowns and downtime. Performing preventative maintenance.
