VACANCY: ARTISAN: COMPLIANCE ELECTRICIAN

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: FIXED TERM CONTRACT (6 MONTHS)

GRADE: C-LOWER

DIVISION: SMELTER

CLOSING DATE: 22 SEPTEMBER 2023

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

• Repair and maintain all electrical installations within the Smelter Business Unit.
• The incumbent will form an integral part in the execution of the day-to-day electrical work and planned maintenance.

DIVERSITY OF WORK

• Work within a single discipline, at an interpretive level and manage work area within a function.
• Carries out a limited range of administrative duties xe2x80x93 confirm SAP PM work orders.

DECISION MAKING

• Decision are made through analysis of best practices, routine or system to get the job done.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspection of all electrical installation in accordance to SANS10142 and Electrical Installation Regulation (EIR) Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 if 1993.
• Develop the deviation action list with all the non-compliance finding.
• Correct all deviations as per report findings within specified time and give feedback to the Electrical and Instrumentation Foreman.
• Certify and issue COC in the Smelterxe2x80x99s electrical installations.
• Raise notifications to repair findings during maintenance inspections.
• Assist in cost-reduction initiatives by reducing waste and improving efficiencies.
• Complete SAP PM orders on time and provide feedback.
• Execute all work within expected and acceptable levels of quality.
• Participate in incident investigations as may be required.
• Report any incidents to Supervisor and/or via the pink card system.
• Ensure compliance with any instructions given with regards to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Maintain high levels of housekeeping within while executing your duties.
• Adhere to PPE requirements as per area of work.
• Ensure that statutory maintenance tasks are executed on time and reports are completed, submitted timeously and then filed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A completed N3 qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• A recognised Trade test certificate as an Electrician.
• At least 3-5 years of working experience in a similar position.
• Must have worked for at least 3 years with medium voltage switching.
• Wiremans license and registered with Electrical Contractors Board (ECB).

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• MS Office and SAP (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) full proficiency.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings.
• Design basic electrical circuits and drawings.
• Ability to identify and proactively address electrical faults.
• Knowledge and adherence to the permit to work system.
• Be able to communicate effectively to relevant associates with regards to any maintenance information.
• Focus on results through quality, safety awareness, management of work, time management, decision making, customer focus, planning and organising.
• Communicate effectively at all levels, while building relationships and gaining commitment.
