Artisan Boilermaker

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Fabricates and installation of metal products using various welding techniques to support our operations in Boksburg.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Installation of locomotive components as per welding procedure. Operate hand and power tools. Set up and operate welding machines. Identity welding defects and repair. Assembling Read and interpret technical specifications and drawing layouts. Inspect components preparations prior to working procedure. Exercise skills and knowledge of welding trade qualification Correctly instruct, and transfer skills to any apprentice and semi-skilled worked assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work House keeping duties Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures Support with adhoc operational activites to support production as and when required

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

Minimum Grade 12 / N3 Formal Trade Qualification in Boilermaker

Experience

Mandatory:

At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience in Boilermaking

Competencies & Skills

Communication Problem Solving Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings Ability to work to close tolerances Able to read and identify welding symbols on drawings Able to butt weld filet weld in different positions Competency in welding applications Knowledge of OSHACT
