How you'll role
The Art Director will be pivotal in leading and shaping the creative vision for a variety of campaigns. Situated in Johannesburg, Bryanston, this role requires a seasoned professional with over five years of experience in art direction and creative leadership within an agency setting. The role demands a combination of hands-on design skills, conceptual prowess, leadership capabilities, and a knack for teamwork to create compelling and culturally resonant work that aligns with brand values. In this dynamic position, you will mentor creative teams, collaborate across multiple departments, and present inspirational ideas to clients.
What you'll do

• Conceptualize and oversee creative direction for campaigns

• Translate strategy and briefs into visually engaging concepts

• Maintain brand consistency while pushing creative boundaries

• Mentor and guide the Creative Team

• Collaborate with Editorial, Social Media, and Strategy Teams

• Present concepts and build trust with clients through creative solutions

• Oversee design execution from concept to final delivery

• Ensure projects meet deadlines, budgets, and quality benchmarks

• Stay updated with design, tech and cultural trends

What you'll need

• 57 years of experience in art direction or creative leadership

• Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual and digital design

• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with motion graphics/video tools

• Excellent visual, verbal and written communication skills

• Proven leadership and multi-tasking abilities

• In-depth understanding of African pop culture and digital platforms
