Area Sales Manager
to join our team.
As an Area Sales Manager you will be expected to be an effective area marketer to customers by maintaining regular contact and providing relevant solutions based on a clear understanding of the customers' business, the macro environment and product offering to the customer.
WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS
Where not defined, establish an effective route plan to achieve maximum call rate efficiencies each day for the quarter.
Conduct research, preparation and planning to achieve the relevant objectives for both Dr. Oetker and the customer.
This includes: Analysis of the customer's micro (business objectives, operational capacity, storage facilities, wastage etc) and macro environment (trends, competitors, economic climate etc).
Understanding of Dr. Oetker products offering so that the right solutions can be matched to the gaps or opportunities found in the customer analysis.
Setting clear call objectives when performing a store call
Preparation and knowledge of the sales information and market data to best engage with customers and provide insights and solutions
Securing the necessary resources to demonstrate to the customer the relevant solution (e.g. products needed for demonstrations, financial tools, product brochures etc.)
Put together a quarterly planner that shows potential revenue and new line listings, by customer, to deliver against set targets.
In call, follow up previous sold solutions and present new opportunities based on real insight from the research and analysis done.
Take orders of new line listings and other relevant solution products.
Launch new products into assigned customers.
Conduct planned promotions with assigned customers.
Provide quality feedback to the supply chain and other relevant functions when required as well as when there is pertinent information (i.e. competitor activity).
Team Coordination and Self-Management
Immediately respond to and where possible solve operational, logistical and customer-related problems within the ambit of responsibility
Identify and implement innovations, particularly those that will increase market share and the number and range of products being introduced into customers.
Important to build relationships with customers, retailers and store management, specific focus required on the franchise retailer space to embed the Dr. Oetker products and improve overall performance

Minimum Required Experience & Qualification
Grade 12/Matric
Marketing and sales degree or diploma (preferable)
Valid Code EB drivers' licence
Sales and relationship management principles
Marketing principles and practices
5 years plus direct selling experience with proven track record
