Job Summary Job Summary: Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the aim of this function is to ensure the effective management of all sales-related functions within the Eastern Cape and Western Cape Regions to best achieve the annual sales budget. Duties & Responsibilities: Sales Management: Analyse performance metrics to make data-driven decisions and find opportunities for growth or improvement. Compile and coordinate monthly sales management plans, provide on-the-ground sales support to the team in pursuit of these plans, and regularly assess regional performance. Team Management: Manage a sales team across two regions effectively and efficiently to achieve set sales budgets. Facilitate regular training and development of the team to drive sales excellence. Conduct performance appraisals, address issues of non-compliance, and take corrective measures for discipline. Customer Support: Assist with all aspects of sales from product queries, service analysis, complaint resolution, developing new business, and assisting with the full Rep function in the absence of a team member to ensure customer service is maintained. Key Accounts: Maintain, manage, and grow a portfolio of assigned Key Accounts within Group Customers through effective planning, relationships, and coordination. Administration: Responsible for efficient cost-effective management of company assets and coordination of rep call cycles. Maintain and grow a professional network of people to aid business endeavors. Key Competencies: Strong analytical skills: Ability to review data, draw meaningful conclusions, and find actionable takeaways to drive sales targets. Strategic planning abilities: Develop forward-thinking sales strategies that maximise profit and create sustainable growth for the region. Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to deliver information efficiently and accurately to the team, customers, and senior management. Ability to balance independent and collaborative work: Given the remote nature of the role from head office, a strong work ethic, and ability to work well with little supervision is imperative. Equally key is the desire to collaborate with other management and head office staff to develop effective sales plans. Team Builder: Ability to lead, develop and motivate a sales team and hold them accountable to achieve sales goals. Build an effective team rapport. Customer focused: Desire to build sustainable, long-term relationships with customers. Confidence and ability to negotiate and close deals. Enthusiastic Team Player: Driven and innovative personality with a genuine passion to drive the business forward. Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 with exemption pass. Minimum 5 years FMCG Sales experience of which 2 years must be in a supervisory role. Valid code 08 drivers license and own a reliable vehicle. Essential to the role will be extensive, regular travel and sleep-outs between Eastern & Western Cape . - About 2 weeks per month will be affected by travel. Computer literate with good Excel skills. Experience with a field sales CRM is advantageous. Key accounts experience would be advantageous. Proven track record for achieving sales targets. Residing in the wider Cape Town area.
