Position: Area Manager - WC/SC (Stone Fruit & Citrus)
Location: Western & Southern Cape (negotiable)
Industry: Fruit Export / AgricultureOverview:
Seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to manage procurement, production, and quality across Stone Fruit and Citrus in the Western and Southern Cape. This is a senior role ideal for someone motivated by performance, quality, and stakeholder engagement.Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of fruit
- Expand and manage a strong grower network
- Deliver accurate seasonal estimates (pre- and post-harvest)
- Oversee harvest and packing processes to ensure quality and efficiency
- Minimize unsound fruit deliveries through proactive quality control
- Ensure compliance with all Food Safety standards
- Provide in-field technical support to producers
- Handle grower administration and ensure accurate reporting
- Strong leadership and accountability
- Analytical thinking and effective problem-solving
- High attention to detail under pressure
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Skilled in MS Office and digital reporting tools
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
- Tertiary qualification in Agriculture or related field
- 5-7 years' experience in the fruit and agricultural industry
- Strong technical expertise in Stone Fruit; Citrus exposure advantageous
- Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and influence across multiple functions
