Job Summary: We're looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Architect to join our dedicated team in Cape Town. This is a pivotal role for a professional with 3 - 6 years of experience, working who is eager to contribute meaningfully to diverse architectural projects from concept to completion. You'll work directly with our senior architects, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and contributing to designs that embody our commitment to quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Contribution: Actively participate in the development of conceptual designs, schematic designs, and design development, bringing fresh perspectives and solutions.
Technical Documentation: Produce precise architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and detailed designs, using industry-leading CAD and BIM software.
Visual Communication: Develop compelling 3D models and high-quality renderings for client presentations and internal design reviews, ensuring our vision is clearly articulated.
Research & Compliance: Conduct thorough research on cutting-edge building materials, systems, and ensure strict adherence to South African National Building Regulations (NBR) and local Cape Town bylaws.
Project Collaboration: Work seamlessly with internal teams, external consultants (structural, MEP, etc.), and clients, ensuring cohesive project delivery aligned with our high standards.
Site Engagement: Participate in essential site visits and surveys, actively documenting existing conditions and monitoring construction progress across various projects in the Cape Town area.
Presentation Support: Assist in preparing impactful presentation materials that effectively communicate design intent and project milestones.
Operational Support: Provide crucial administrative support to project teams, ensuring smooth workflows.
Continuous Learning: Embrace continuous professional development, staying abreast of industry trends and enhancing skills to grow within the firm.
Qualifications:
Education: A relevant Bachelor's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
Software Proficiency:
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit is non-negotiable.
Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray, Enscape) is a significant advantage.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) for impactful presentations.
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Technical Acumen:
Solid understanding of architectural principles, South African National Building Regulations (NBR), and practical construction methodologies.
Ability to accurately read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
Excellent spatial reasoning and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
