Job Description

Animal Defenders International is seeking an Animal Caretaker to join the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary, based in Winburg, South Africa, currently home to lions and tigers rescued from abuse in captivity.
Our Sanctuary is a place of loving kindness, where animals who have suffered abuse can enjoy the freedom to choose what they want to do and where they want to be, in extensive natural habitats.

Role
Assist with the care and welfare of all rescued big cats / domestic animals; feeding, monitoring, animal husbandry and enrichment.
Assist with the maintenance of the sanctuary; roads, trees, habitats, infrastructure, vehicles, equipment and tools.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years experience working with big cats in a rescue environment
Passion and affinity for animal welfare
Meticulous about detail, professional standards and a responsible person
Physically fit
Good communication skills
Team player
Willingness to work outside normal working hours, including weekends and evenings.
Please Note:
-This is a live-in position, with staff working on a shift pattern with 5 days off per month.
-It should be noted that all staff have to assist in the preparation of the food for our resident animals.
