Sentinel Capital (xe2x80x98Sentinelxe2x80x99) is a single family office that is committed to wealth preservation. The company manages wealth for an international family that owns and operates a manufacturing conglomerate. Based in the city of London, Sentinel has a full asset allocation mandate, with direct investments in Renewable Energy, Real Estate and Private Equity/Search Funds. Sentinel is dedicated to diversifying its investment portfolio by actively seeking global opportunities in multiple sectors. Role Overview
Sentinel is a growing organisation with room for ample progression and management roles. The organisation is in the process of launching a fund dedicated to the Search Fund asset class. The candidate will work directly with the fund manager and will primarily be responsible for investment, asset management and reporting tasks. Furthermore, the candidate will be exposed to a unique learning environment and should possess an entrepreneurial mindset as the role will require additional, time constrained, deliverables in multiple business facets. The individual with be based in South Africa, however, as the fund has a global mandate, there will be an opportunity for the individual to travel. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct broad industry and thematic research to develop an understanding of relevant trends and risks
  • Research and analyse new direct/indirect investment opportunities using qualitative and quantitative methods
  • Prepare investment recommendations to the investment committee
  • Oversee due diligence and execution process for approved deals
  • Build and maintain complex financial models to project detailed cash flows and forecast investment returns
  • Monitor current investments to track their performance and identify the optimal operating and financial strategies to be implemented
  • Prepare, manage and present portfolio performance metrics, analyses, and reports
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the organisation
Candidate Requirements:
  • Degree level education ideally in a business or analytical subject such as finance, mathematics, economics or engineering
  • 3 - 5 yearxe2x80x99s experience in a top tier consulting firm or in an analytical role within investment banking, asset management or private equity
  • Exposure to, or understanding of the private equity environment
  • Demonstrable experience in financial modelling, valuations and financial analysis
  • Strong attention to detail, and a critical and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal/external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and leverage networks
  • IT literate and fully proficient in MS Office xe2x80x93 Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Desirable (not essential)
  • CFA or Accountancy qualifications
