Alumni and Volunteer Relations Officer
2-year fixed Term contract. IkamvaYouth is a township-based volunteer program that gets learners out of poverty through education. The Organisation exists to reduce inequality in South Africa, and its track record of matric results, access to post-school opportunities, and alumni success is proof that positive change is possible. The Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this position is to implement an IkamvaYouth Alumni and Volunteer strategy. The Alumni Volunteer Relations role involves ensuring that IkamvaYouth learners and volunteers access post-school opportunities through establishing lasting relationships with prospective partners, as well as establishing programmes that will assist alumni and volunteers in their personal and professional growth journey. The role will assist in setting up vibrant Alumni and Volunteers communities both at branches as well as tertiary institutions. Reporting line: Alumni & Volunteers Coordinator
Location: Pretoria
Salary: 17000.00 Responsibilities: xe2x96xaa Maintain an up-to-date directory of opportunities for Grade 12s to access post-school opportunities.
xe2x96xaa Ensure that the directory of opportunities is regularly shared with mentors, team members, and learners through salesforce and social media.
xe2x96xaa Ensure that branches provide contact information for their Grade 12s annually. xe2x96xaa Update Grade 12 learners onto Salesforce or other database when placement results are released.
xe2x96xaa Ensure that learners are allocated to different streams so that we can match them with relevant opportunities.
xe2x96xaa Financial administration of funds received for individual IkamvaYouth alumni. xe2x96xaa Develop and manage positive relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
xe2x96xaa Maintain close communication with all partners and provide them with information in a timeous manner.
xe2x96xaa Establish Alumni and volunteer community at the Branch level as well as at the various tertiary institutes.
xe2x96xaa Implement plans to get in touch with the alumni for whom we do not have contact details for.
xe2x96xaa Attending to Alumni challenges and referring to relevant support services.
xe2x96xaa Liaising with organizations that provide accredited skills development programs.
xe2x96xaa Tracking, field monitoring and reporting on the skills development program. xe2x96xaa Mentoring interns in the department for excellent performance.
xe2x96xaa Source service providers to conduct personal and professional development workshops for alumni and volunteers.
xe2x96xaa Maintain the alumni Facebook page by updating it regularly.
xe2x96xaa Research and tracking of upgrading/gap year alumni
xe2x96xaa Logistics for department events xe2x80x93 e.g NEETs Conferences, Skills Dvt graduations Qualification & Competencies Required: xe2x96xaa Relevant tertiary qualification
xe2x96xaa Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
xe2x96xaa A minimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the NPO education environment
xe2x96xaa A minimum of 3 yearxe2x80x99s leadership experience
xe2x96xaa MS Excel intermediate or advanced user
xe2x96xaa Salesforce experience required.
xe2x96xaa Facilitation skills advantageous xe2x96xaa Excellent communication and writing skills (previous experience in copywriting, editing, and drafting essential)
xe2x96xaa Computer skills and knowledge of database, word processing, and spreadsheet packages
xe2x96xaa Fluency in English, both written and spoken
xe2x96xaa Ability to work with budgets and financials.
