Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Airport Security Officer to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in South Africa. In this critical role, you will ensure the safety and security of passengers, staff, and airport infrastructure by monitoring activities, controlling access, and responding to incidents. Key Responsibilities
Monitor access to restricted airport areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are granted entry.
Conduct regular patrols throughout the airport to maintain safety and security standards.
Operate and monitor CCTV systems to detect and respond to suspicious activities.
Respond promptly to security breaches, emergencies, or suspicious behavior, following established protocols.
Collaborate with law enforcement, airport management, and emergency services during incidents.
Verify passenger and staff credentials, ensuring compliance with aviation security regulations.
Assist with crowd control and passenger screening processes as needed.
Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with South Africas National Aviation Security Program (NASP) and Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs).
Deliver professional customer service, addressing passenger inquiries with courtesy and efficiency.
Qualifications
National Senior Certificate (Matric) or equivalent from a recognized South African institution.
Valid PSIRA Registration (minimum Grade C) from a PSIRA-accredited training provider.
Basic aviation security training or related certificates (e.g., SACAA-recognized courses) preferred.
1-2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is advantageous; entry-level candidates with PSIRA certification will be considered.
Clean criminal record, verified through PSIRA background checks.
Physical fitness to perform patrols, stand for extended periods, and respond to emergencies.
Strong observation, communication, and conflict management skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced airport environment.
Familiarity with CCTV systems and security software is a plus.
South African citizenship or valid work permit.
Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: ZAR 10,00025,000 per month, based on experience, qualifications, and location.
