Job descriptionField work which includes:Crop population countsSoil and leaf samplingYield estimation samplingField inspections (Scouting)Moisture assessment and irrigation schedulingField data collection, capture and reporting.Duties & ResponsibilitiesJOB DESCRIPTION:To support in the efficient, accurate, complete and timeous measurement and collection of data, through detailed inspections, sampling, research and tasks in the crop management and Agronomy systems. To support in the effective solving of problems related to crop management, output, and quality. To develop agronomic approaches and oversee interventions on behalf of the company to ensure that the business objectives are met. To ensure the most cost effective and Practical development and promotion of better farming practices occurs. By applying yourself diligently you are required to be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical with excellent listening, communication, problem-solving and Critical Thinking skills, to achieve the agronomic tasks and reflect on the production operations with a pre-determined standard of excellence. You will endeavor to flag instances when such standards are not met in order to allow for an effective intervention and correction to take place. To upkeep a proficient understanding of systems utilized in the department as well as basic Microsoft programs.
