Job Description
Minimum requirements:
- MSc in Agriculture, specialising in Horticulture or Soil ScienceA
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in citrus or equivalent crop production/advisory rolesA
- Fluent in Afrikaans and EnglishA
- Training in data analytics for agriculture would be beneficial
- Familiarity with GIS tools or spatial data platforms for orchard mapping and variability tracking
- Valid driver's licenseA
- Experience with digital platforms for remote sensing, crop modelling, or agronomic recommendations
- Proficiency in water and irrigation management-(soil moisture probes, fertigation scheduling, drainage planning, and salt leaching techniques
- Understanding of local agricultural legislation, food safety, and environmental compliance frameworks (e.g., GlobalG.A.P., SIZA, DALRRD guidelines)
