Job Description


A leading company specialising in the manufacturing and distribution of pesticides, fertilizer, and other agricultural chemicals requires the above to conduct trials, technically support farmers and agents in the region, build lasting relationships and provide product training to distributors / agents within the Limpopo region.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A BSc or BAgric degree or diploma or related qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • The successful candidate must be passionate about agriculture.
  • Previous experience managing distributors or agents is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked as an Agronomist or related role within the fertilizer, agrochemical or related agricultural markets is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience having worked with citrus, avocados and macadamias etc is preferred but not essential.
  • The company is happy to train the right person on their product range.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing customers, developinf new business, conducting trials, technically supporting farmers and agents in the region, building lasting relationships and providing product training to sales staff and or distributors/agents within the Limpopo region.
  • Providing technical training and distributor support.
  • Creating and conducting marketing trials and activities to influence and support sales of various products, seeds and crop solutions.
  • Planning and presenting technical training sessions to agents and growers.
  • Managing forecasts and planning models to ensure continuous product supply.
  • Developing strategic marketing strategies for the region.
  • Developing and implementing in-field product demonstrations.
  • Investigating, capturing and communicating aspects of key crop production.
  • Identifying key crop, product and market opportunities and threats from competitors.
  • Keeping abreast of market, trade and competitor activities in order to revise strategies to meet changing requirements.
  • Building and retaining strong customer relationships with farmers and agents.
  • Ensuring strategy plans are in line with various agents promoting and developing the product range in the region.
  • Visiting farmers yearly with agents and distributors.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
