Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field with a focus on Afrikaans language teaching. Registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE). Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in Afrikaans Home Language and First Additional Language for Grades 8 - 12. Proficient in both Afrikaans and English, with strong speaking, reading, and writing skills. Ability to develop and implement effective lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles. Strong assessment and evaluation skills to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback. Experience in preparing students for National Senior Certificate (NSC) assessments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and students. Proven ability to create a positive and conducive learning environment. Clean SAPS criminal record clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans for Afrikaans as Home Language and First Additional Language for Grades 8 - 12. Assess and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback to promote improvement in language proficiency. Incorporate a variety of instructional techniques and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs. Participate in curriculum development meetings and align teaching strategies with school and national educational standards. Maintain accurate student records and communicate progress to stakeholders including parents, guardians, and colleagues. Attend and contribute to staff meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities. Ensure classroom environment is conducive to learning and upholds the school's behavioral expectations. Prepare students for examinations, including NSC assessments, to ensure high achievement levels. Communicate effectively in both Afrikaans and English for instructional and administrative purposes. * Collaborate with colleagues to address individual student needs and enhance educational outcomes.
